Why we're called Trieste
Life thrives, even under pressure.
On 23 January 1960, the bathyscaphe Trieste became the first vessel to reach the Mariana Trench, the deepest place in the ocean. Under crushing pressure and total darkness, its crew found life that was not just surviving, but thriving.
We took our name from that journey. We understand the pressures that come with reaching your goals, and we believe that with the right support and encouragement, every person can thrive.

In their words
SamAccommodation Coordinator, Trieste Foundation
Working for Trieste Foundation has been an incredibly rewarding part of my professional journey. From the beginning, I felt a strong connection to the organisation's values, which closely align with both my personal beliefs and the way I strive to lead, with compassion, integrity, respect and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of the people we support.
Trieste has provided me with meaningful opportunities to learn, grow and progress within the organisation. Beginning as a Support Worker, I was supported to step into a Team Leader position and have since progressed into my current role as Accommodation Coordinator. Each opportunity has allowed me to develop my skills, take on new challenges and contribute to the organisation in increasingly meaningful ways.
What I value most about Trieste is its genuine commitment to providing person-centred support while creating a workplace where employees feel trusted, encouraged and supported to grow. I am incredibly proud to be part of an organisation whose values I believe in, and whose work continues to make such a positive difference in the lives of participants, families and the wider community.
JordanBehaviour Support Practitioner, external NDIS allied health
As an external registered NDIS allied health provider (BSP) collaborating in the ever-changing NDIS landscape, the defining feature of the Trieste team is their genuine focus on participant-first, person-centred decision making. The client's best outcomes are always at the centre of decisions, as is client and stakeholder input.
From that, they produce highly person-matched, person-centred teams that go the extra step for client capacity building and engagement. My allied health (BSP) inputs are always adapted; even when I acknowledge that the therapeutic way of intervention and skills development isn't always the quickest, it yields the best results, and the teams I've worked with are always willing to take it on.
Even with the most complex client needs, or clients facing significant challenges, I have always worked alongside them in homes and teams that are supported, safe, warm and clean. More than that, those spaces and teams are community-engaged and connected, and the participants become integrated members of their community.
Helen MParent and guardian
Our son's NDIS journey started in 2015. Back then he was living in a government-run group house, which meant he needed to find a new home and a support provider. It has been a long journey; seven houses, four service providers and ten years would pass before we would find Trieste Foundation. He is valued for who he is and what he can do. His house is no longer an institution; it is a home. His support workers are carers who make a difference, bringing real meaning to his life. Trieste Foundation have shown us that they understand what it takes to provide our son the home and care he needs to live his life to his best potential.
